A New Way of “Storifying” – Connecting Online and Social Media Sources

May 2, 2011

I never heard the word “storify” before reading about the service with this name in this story in today’s Seattle Times. However, I like the sound of it and what it does.

The service helps journalists to gather information from the main social media and online sources (Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Flickr and Google) and to tie them all together into a “story”.

The best way to understand it is to look at a couple of examples:

Here is a blog entry that cleverly uses Storify to tell the story of the service itself

Here is a Storify on Osama Bin Laden

The possibilities for market research are intriguing. Well, maybe not “official” market research… but as a way of  reporting social media or online trends it has potential. In fact, anytime there is a story to tell that includes numerous online links it could be helpful.

This post just provides exposure to the service. It is now on my radar. And, I hope to “storify” you soon.
